The Greater Long Island Running Club will be awarding one or more grants
in the amount of $5000 to a selected high school track & field/cross country
program or programs. Any public high school in either Nassau or Suffolk County is
eligible to be awarded a grant.
The grant must be used to help subsidize the high school program in ways
such as purchasing new equipment, paying for travel costs to competitions, for
shoes/uniform accessories, or in any other way that will have a direct positive
impact on the program.
Selection of the winning high school program or programs will be based on a
combination of factors, including the need of the school, the purpose for which
the grant would be used, the benefit to the program and the student/athletes
who are part of the program, and the benefit to the community of which the
high school is a part.
Any Nassau or Suffolk County high school is cordially invited to submit your proposal for the grant on the form linked below. Feel free to add additional pages as you see necessary. To be considered your proposal must be received at our office on or before May 1, 2017. A hard copy can be sent in the mail or a digital version be mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any questions, please call GLIRC President Mike Polansky or GLIRC Executive Director Linda Ottaviano at (516) 349-7646.
