Congratulations, Bert Jablon!

Our good friend Bert Jablon is retiring from the Club’s Executive Board after decades of service on the Board.  Bert and his wife Myra will be sticking around as volunteers, but at age 93 Bert felt that it was time to move on from the Board.  He will definitely be missed.

The Board, represented by Club President Mike Polansky, Club Vice President Mindy Davidson, and Club Executive Director Sue Fitzpatrick,  presented him with a special plaque and a Gift Certificate to his favorite restaurant in VERY grateful acknowledgment of his service to the Club.

The plaque reads as follows:

To honor and commemorate your many years of serving on the GLIRC Executive Board and being an integral part of the Long Island running community and its history.

With deep appreciation for your commitment and enthusiasm to the Club and the running community.

“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished....It’s about who you’ve lifted and Who you’ve made better.  It’s about what you’ve given back.”
