The Course: This is an 8K European style Cross Country course run on a 2K circuit, including at least 2 hay bale barriers to jump, stop on or step over per circuit.

31st Annual Ocean to Sound Relay

8 Runners per Team covering 50 miles from Jones Beach State Park to Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay.

Teams of eight runners each will traverse a scenic course through the rolling countrysde of beautiful Long Island. Each participant will run between five and seven miles.
Men’s and women’s open teams, men’s and women’s master teams, men’s and women’s senior masters teams, corporate teams, law enforcement/firefighter teams, physically challenged and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society teams are welcome.

Special commemorative t-shirts will be presented to each participant.
Computerized timing and results at every leg by JMS Racing Services using the MyLaps Pro Chip elite timing system.

Post Race Event Information
The event includes a gala-post race party (your bib tear off will be your entry ticket to the party) under a large tent featuring five hours of unlimited beer, wine, soda and food. There will be music and dancing. The special 30th Anniversary Edition of the “Best Post-Race Party in the Northeast” will take place at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park on the shoreline of beautiful Oyster Bay Harbor near the finish line.

Awards will be presented to each member of the top three teams in each category. “Spirit of the Relay” Award: a $50 gift certificate to the Runner’s Edge for each member of the team that best exemplifies the fun and camaraderie of the event, in memory of Stan Kramberg. The awards ceremony will take place during the party.

Junior Triathlon is for youth ages 8- 13. 

Packet Pickup is Saturday, August 27, 2016, 7:15 AM - 8:45 AM at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. No packets can be picked up after 8:45 AM! PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY!

FIRST WAVE 9:15 AM SHARP - PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 8:00AM  *MANDATORY SAFETY MEETING AT 9:00AM

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE JUNIOR TRIATHLON:
1. The first wave of the Runner’s Edge-TOBAY Junior Triathlon will start in the beach area promptly at 9:15 AM. Packet pickup will end at 8:45 AM.
2. Every child must wear the brightly colored swim cap that we provide, and must wear the bib number that we provide on the front of his or her shirt. Each youngster will be timed using timing chip provided.
3. Every child must wear an approved hard or soft shell helmet at all times while on the bike, and it must be strapped before mounting and until after dismounting.
4. Water shoes or swim socks strongly encouraged for the swim.
5. Every child who finishes will receive a medal when he or she crosses the finish line.
6. Finally, and most important of all, keep in mind that this event is intended to be FUN for the children rather than a cutthroat competitive event. Please refrain from doing anything that would be inconsistent with the spirit of the event, or that would potentially jeopardize any child’s safety or potentially interfere with any child’s enjoyment of the event. Courtesy and sportsmanship should be practiced by both parents and children at
all times!

Suffolk County Training Run #3 - Argyle Park, Babylon

Training run #3 for the Suffolk County Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K will take place at 6:30 PM at Southard Pond Park on Park Avenue in Babylon., using the same course as the Dirty Sock Run. There is parking at the Babylon Memorial Grade school on Park Avenue.

The training run is free. The run is 6 miles.

All runners will have the opportunity to buy one beer and get one free at Mary Carroll's , 121 Park Ave, Babylon. There will also be a free happy hour style buffet.

Purple Ribbon 5K Run/Walk

Course: USATF Certified 5K (3.1 mile) course through the completely flat, suburban streets of Wantagh with few turns. Splits every mile and water stop at 1.5 miles.

Awards: Awards to top 3 M & F overall, top 3 M & F in 5 year age groups (14 & under through 80 plus), top M & F Wantagh Student and top M & F Wantagh Master.
Medals to all fun run finishers.

Amenities: This is a USATF sanctioned race, meaning it will abide by all rules and regulations set by the USATF.
Top quality dri-fit t-shirts to all registrants of the 5K.
Hundreds of dollars worth of great raffles from local merchants (must be present to win).
Electronic Chip Timing by Just Finish, results will be available online at justfinish.net within 24 hours.

19th Annual Sayville Walk/Run to Benefit Cystic Fibrosis

Course: The 4-mile run or 2-mile walk will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Long
Island Maritime Museum. The course will head north, through West Sayville
and back to finish in front of the Maritime Museum for brunch and fun.

Pre-Registered Entry Fee: $30* (Includes brunch & t-shirt)
